Green Alternatives to Bleach

At Heaven Scent we love to help you choose the right cleaner for every task you're likely to face. Yesterday someone asked me about green alternatives to chlorine bleach. Here they are:
1. Adding 1/2 cup baking soda to your laundry detergent. It will boost its cleaning power and leave clothes whiter and brighter.
2. Presoak whites in a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 6 parts warm water. Let it sit overnight and then wash your clothes as normal.
3. Hydrogen peroxide is a mild bleaching agent for more than summer blonds and has less impact on the environment than chlorine bleach. For whites, add a cup of hydrogen peroxide to your full load. Do not use on colored clothing.

Book Emergencies? What To Do About Mildew!

Book Emergencies! What to do about mildew? Use a baby wipe or a damp cloth dipped in white vinegar to carefully remove mildew or vacuum it off. Then set the book in direct sunlight for no more than 30 minutes. The pages will start to yellow if the book is exposed to sunlight any longer.
